From Trinity: This piece is my self-directed reinterpretation of the 1825 painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence, “The Red Boy.” I originally saw the painting hanging in a friend’s house. I thought the hair was amazing, so I took a photo. Two years later, I thought I would give it a shot.
I learned that it is not necessary to make intricate details to make something look good. For example, the hair looked good to me with far less details than I expected. I include because I was proud of it at the time, particularly since it has a full background.
The mug is glossy white and the prints come out beautifully and vividly on it. The print retains its quality and luster when used in both microwaves and the dishwasher.
